Course overview
This is a 30 hour (19 + 6 + 5 hours) Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) accredited course designed for medical doctors (MD/DO), licensed acupuncturists, and chiropractors (who already practice acupuncture). It assumes that participants already have a fundamental understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and diseases. It involves online live webinars, home study, and live in-personal tutorials.
What is structure-based medical acupuncture?
Structure-based medical acupuncture is acupuncture that adjusts human structure to improve function and treat disease through a structure analysis method. It utilizes both ancient and modern, Chinese and Western medicine principles and understandings of human structure. It looks at acupuncture and manual therapies' sites of effect, ways of stimulation, and mechanisms of action with a new point of view. It uses structure as the basis, with improvement of function as the goal. It studies the patterns of acupuncture, understands the uses of acupuncture, and brings forth new acupuncture methods. The goal is to find an easier way to understand, master, and teach clinical acupuncture.
Why take this course?
This course takes a different approach to teaching acupuncture compared to conventional acupuncture schools and courses. It takes a structure-based approach to acupuncture which is compatible with Western medicine theories and will add to your current medical knowledge. Treatments are expected to provide instantaneous pain relief, even if pain is longstanding and chronic. Furthermore, the course teaches the "secret" of acupuncture and a "short-cut" method to practicing acupuncture, which avoids having to learn extensive Traditional Chinese Medicine theory.

"Dr. Tang has done a wonderful job of putting together a massive amount of great information and research!! Thank you." - Linda S.
"Hands-on practice with each other was very useful, since we can ask each other for feedback in a way that's usually difficult for patients to give in real time." - Amelia N.
"I appreciate the interactive nature of the session. I was surprised to find that the mix of recorded lecture and subsequent commentary by him actually kept me engaged." - Chris R.
"Cases were great. Very interactive and good to see how we can critically think, apply, and adjust treatment for acupuncture." - Tracey I.
